Generous gift from Lester J. Fernandes will endow research Chair in Business Ethics
When it comes to ethical behaviour in business, there are many shades of grey. Parsing them requires a strong ethical compass, and the Laidley Centre for Business Ethics and Equity, founded in 2022 with a gift from David Laidley (BComβ67), is helping the next generation of business leaders do exactly that. Thanks to a generous gift from Lester J. Fernandes (MBAβ82), a new research Chair in Business Ethics endowment will help expand the Laidley Centreβs footprint. βOld sayings like βgreed is goodβ and βthe end justifies the meansβ are just that β old sayings,β says Fernandes. βIt is important that the professional who occupies the Chair has the will, integrity, and experience to investigate issues that are not always straightforward or transparent.β
