Multidisciplinary Pre-COP21 Gathering of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Researchers

On November 12, 2015, researchers from across Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ campuses convened toΒ promote connection and collaboration on the topic of climate change in advance of the potentially historic Conference of Parties (COP)Β in Paris, France. COP21, also known as the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, will be negotiating towardsΒ aΒ solution which keepsΒ global warming below 2Β°C through aΒ legally binding and universal agreement on climate.

The informal gathering was supported by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ School of Environment, Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM), Trottier Institute for Sustainability in Engineering and Design (TISED), and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Faculty of Law. Attendees expressed interest for future initiatives, including a possibleΒ post-COP21 debrief, which would bring togetherΒ a wide variety of faculty members and graduate students working on climate change at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.Β
