Dr. Mark Ware leading the launch of the Quebec Cannabis Registry

We're proud to announce that one of faculty members Dr. Mark Ware, Associate Professor in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology, is leading the launch of theÌý, one of the largest studies ever conducted on medical marijuana. This project has a registry for users of medical cannabis in Quebec (headed by The Research Institute of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Health Centre (RI-MUHC) and the Canadian Consortium for the Investigation of Cannabinoids (CCIC)), allowing physicians to better manage its use and monitor patient safety. It represents theÌýworld’s first research database on the use of cannabis for medical purposes and places the province at the forefront of research in the field of medical cannabis.ÌýOver the long term, this ten-year project will result in a research database that will be made available to the international scientific community.ÌýDr. Ware is the principal investigator of the study,ÌýDirector of theÌýÌý(°ä°ä±õ°ä),ÌýDirector of Clinical Research at the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Health Centre and an active member of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Department of Family Medicine’s research and graduate studies division.
