Success of 麻豆约拍 Family Medicine in latest FRQS salary award competition !
We have wonderful news to share with you. Once again we have a great deal to be proud of in the Department of Family Medicine.听听
The results from the Fonds de recherche Sant茅-Quebec (FRQS) have been announced and we would like to congratulate the members of our department who have been successful. 听These competitions are very competitive and few are actually successful in obtaining these salary support awards.
Three of our faculty members have received career awards and 5 graduate students were awarded scholarships. 听 By obtaining two Chercheur-boursiers (Sante et Societe), we accounted for 11% of these career awards at the provincial level and 20% of the awards given to 麻豆约拍. 听For the students, we accounted for 2% of the provincial awards and 7% of the awards given to 麻豆约拍. 听To put this in perspective, the Faculty of Medicine at 麻豆约拍 has over 500 researchers and more than 1,000 graduate students so this really is amazing for our Department!
麻豆约拍 Family Medicine now has nine faculty members with FRQS salary award (3 at the Senior level and 6 Junior 1) as well as 2 endowed chairs.

Dr. Pierre Pluye, Associate Professor, 听who obtained the Senior Chercheur-boursier for his research project entitled "Effets de sant茅 associ茅s 脿 l'application des informations acquises avec les technologies de听l'information et de la communication par les cliniciens et les patients de premi猫re ligne."听听
Dr. Peter Nugus, Assistant Professor, who obtained the Junior 1 Chercheur-boursier, mentored by Dr. Gillian Bartlett, for the proposal entitled "Am茅liorer le continuum des soins: aller-retour de la collectivit茅 脿 la salle d'urgence."
Dr. Bertrand Lebouch茅, Assistant Professor,听who obtained the Junior 1 Chercheur-boursier clinicien, mentored by Dr. Charo Rodriguez, for the proposal entitled "Am茅lioration du d茅pistage et des soins pour les hommes qui ont des relations sexuelles avec听d'autres hommes au Qu茅bec, gr芒ce 脿 un mod猫le de soin du VIH multidisciplinaire."
For our graduate students, success in these competitions means that all three of our current PhD students are now funded with FRSQ scholarships 鈥� a testament to their excellent academic achievements. 听In addition, two of our current MSc candidates received awards. Please join us in congratulating:

Doaa Farid -听PhD Candidate (Co-Supervisors, Ellen Rosenberg and Gillian Bartlett) for the topic "脡tude de l'impact du je没ne intermittent pendant le mois de Ramadan pour les patients atteints du听diab猫te de type 2."
Emily Parkinson 鈥� MSc Candidate (Co-Supervisors, Ellen Rosenberg and Gillian Bartlett) for the topic "Surmonter les barri猫res linguistiques afin d'am茅liorer la qualit茅 des soins de sant茅 des immigrants.
Svetlana Puzhko听听鈥� MSc Candidate (Supervisor, Julie Bruneau (UdeM)) on the topic "Risque de transmission du VHC chez les personnes qui s'injectent des opiac茅s d'ordonnance: la听contribution des modes et des contextes de consommation."
