gifts /library/taxonomy/term/238/all en Library endowments /library/about/donors/giving/endowments
Creating an endowment fund is a long-lasting way of showing your support for the Library. Endowments are created with a donation of $50,000 or greater. Gifts of smaller amounts can be added to one of the many existing endowment funds. The contribution is invested and will earn valuable income in perpetuity. The Library then uses the income to support the donor’s area of choice. The endowment will remain at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Libraries to support our collections on a continuing basis. The principal of an endowment is never spent. It is forever a source of income for the Library.
Thu, 01 Dec 2011 17:33:33 +0000 gregory.houston@mcgill.ca 5552 at /library Annual giving to the Library /library/about/donors/giving/annual
Private support has always played an important role in providing the resources needed to fulfill the mission of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Library: providing students and researchers with the best possible information resources, equipment, and comfortable and inviting settings. Gifts-in-kind are non-cash gifts, such as books, archival records, artwork, real estate... Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ may accept a gift of tangible property as a charitable donation if such property supports the goals of the University, respects its academic freedom and preserves its integrity.
Thu, 01 Dec 2011 17:33:32 +0000 d.nicholson@mcgill.ca 5547 at /library SSMU Library Improvement Fund /library/about/donors/giving/ssmu
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s undergraduate students are important donors to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Library. The Students' Society of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in cooperation with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Alumni Association created the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) in 1996, setting the stage for a ground-breaking donation of $500,000 to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Libraries.

The LIF continues to raise significant funds annually in support of the Library. In recognition of the importance of the libraries to the mission of the entire university, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Fund Council has matched the students generosity every year.
Thu, 01 Dec 2011 17:33:32 +0000 gregory.houston@mcgill.ca 5546 at /library Major gifts /library/about/donors/giving/major
Since James Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's founding gift of 46 acres and 10,000 pounds in 1813, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has grown to international prominence, thanks in part to significant private support, or major gifts, from alumni and friends.

All gifts to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Libraries are important. Major giftsβ€”private support of $100,000β€”are especially vital to the continued excellence of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Library. A planned gift allows you to make a significant impact at the university while receiving tax benefits. These can include gifts of bequests, life insurance, charitable remainder trusts, retirement funds, gifts-in-kind and gifts of residual interest.
Thu, 01 Dec 2011 17:33:24 +0000 d.nicholson@mcgill.ca 5509 at /library Supporting the Library /library/about/donors/giving
The Giving Tree

In October, 1996, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Libraries' Recognition Tree was unveiled by Chancellor Gretta Chambers, Principal Bernard Shapiro and the Director of Libraries, Frances Groen.
