17 Rooms-X ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ | ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Office of Sustainability
February 2, 2024 | An initiative led by MPP alumnus Julian Lam,Β 17 Rooms-X ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ is a unique event that will bring together faculty, staff, students, and practitioners who are working to advance progress on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).Β Β This process will feed into ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔβs next climate and sustainability strategy (2025-2030) and will provide broader insight into challenges and opportunities for advancing progress on the SDGs at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ.
17 Rooms-X ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ will take place across 8 sessions (or βRoomsβ) between February and March, focusing on 1-3 SDGs per session.Β Each session will last around 1 1/2 hours and will bring together ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ students, staff, faculty, and practitioners.Β
Each targeted gathering will seek to advance interdisciplinary, intra-university action by unearthing work being done on each of the SDGs at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ and identifying what more can be done in our university context. 17 Rooms-X ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ aims to produceΒ research-oriented recommendations, institutional recommendations, and social recommendations to advance progress on the SDGs. These findings will inform ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔβs Climate and Sustainability Strategy (2025-2030) and will be presented in a dedicated 17 Room-X ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ report, which will identify existing obstacles to advancing SDG collaboration on campus and propose solutions for addressing them, as brainstormed by the participants.
