Have you ever wondered what the difference between medicine and scientific research is? Dr. Craig Bryan, who is both a medical doctor and a scientist, is here to explain! Come join us virtually on聽March 1, from 12-1pm聽for a talk about Craig's career path, the differences between medicine and research, and his adorable cat - Bree!

A little about him: Craig was born in Mandeville, Jamaica (Xaymaca- Land of wood and water). During high school, his path was undecided- divided between his love of science and his passion for languages. After high school, he went to the University of the West Indies where he completed medical school while involved in the social and cultural life of the university as a language ambassador. After graduating, he worked as a physician in central Jamaica for three years, before leaving to Canada to pursue kidney research at 麻豆约拍. His research revolves around a special protein kinase called SLK and its effects on kidney filtration. When he is not in the lab, Craig devotes time (and attention) to his cat, Bree, as well as spending time with his friends, learning other languages, and enjoys the seasonal sports.

Let's Talk Science聽is a national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing "hands-on, minds-on" opportunities to engage youth in STEM.聽The聽聽is a volunteer-based group of graduate and undergraduate students from a wide range of faculties at 麻豆约拍.聽
