Biography: 

Dr. Sangeeta Sandhu earned her Medical Degree (M.B.B.S.) from North Bengal Medical College (NBMC), Sushrutanagar, India. She obtained a Prosectorship in Biochemistry and topped her final MBBS in Surgery to prove that she had a keen analytic mind and the cutting edge. After completing her internship at NBMC, she did an obligatory year of residency (House Officer/FY1) in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Post Graduate Institute (PGI), Kolkata. During her second year of residency (House Officer/FY2) in Radiation Oncology at PGI, she emigrated to Canada.

Dr. Sandhu completed her post graduate training and became board certified in Combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) from St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University, New York city (2002-2006). She served as an active member of the College of American Pathologist’s Resident Forum. Pursuing her interest in the Human Genome Project, she took a Resident elective in Molecular Diagnostics at the National Institute of Health, Bethesda with Drs. Elaine Jaffe and Mark Raffeld. This was followed by a fellowship training in Surgical Oncologic Pathology, at the University of Illinois, Chicago and a second fellowship training in Hematopathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York (2007-2008).

Dr. Sandhu is licensed by le Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) since 2008, and now practices Anatomic Pathology, Cytopathology and Hematopathology, at the Lakeshore General Hospital, a sister member of St. Mary’s Hospital Center, both part of the CIUSSS-ODIM (Centre Intégré Universitaire de Santé et de services sociaux de l’Ouest-de-Montréal), a community-based center affiliated to Â鶹ԼÅÄ Health Center, Montreal, under the OPTILAB umbrella of the Department of Molecular and Diagnostic Pathology. She has the satisfaction of upholding the four pillars of Medicine, which are - Clinical, Education, Research and Administration.
