Overview

History : A survey of critical theory, focused particularly on methodological and theoretical questions pertinent to historical analysis. Thinkers to be read and discussed include Hegel, Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, Weber, LukΓ΅cs, the Frankfurt School, Althusser, Derrida, Deleuze, Foucault, Lacan, and their contemporary interpreters. Primary texts of major thinkers and secondary writings will be included.

Terms: This course is not scheduled for the 2018-2019 academic year.
