Become a 2019-2020 Sustainable Events Consultant!

The Office of Sustainability is recruiting Sustainable Events Consultant for the 2019-2020 academic year!

As a volunteer with the Sustainable Events Consultant team, you will liaise with event organizers in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ community to ensure that they are organized in the most sustainable way possible. By utilizing both online and print resources, you will help event organizers gain access to knowledge about sustainable resources, and help ensure best practices at events.

Â鶹ԼÅÄ, as a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), is looking to appoint a SDG Campus Coordinator for the 2019-2020 academic year. The coordinator’s role will be to raise student awareness of the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), mobilise students/student clubs around the SDGs and act as a point of contact between Â鶹ԼÅÄ student body and the SDSN Youth.

On March 22, 2018 –ÌýWorld Water DayÌý– Â鶹ԼÅÄ announced that it planned to eliminate the sale of single-use plastic water bottles on campus by the end of May 2019. This represents 85,000 bottles per year.

The PGSS representative would be one of eight Working Group members, who ensure that the SPF meets its mandate to build a culture of sustainability on Â鶹ԼÅÄ campuses through the development and seed-funding of interdisciplinary projects.
