CRC - CFI

Information for CFI ApplicantsÌý

CFI projects are institutional initiatives:. Â鶹ԼÅÄ researchers offered the opportunity (Faculty or Provost decision) or allowed through an internal Â鶹ԼÅÄ review process can apply to the CFI.

At Â鶹ԼÅÄ, CFI proposals are managed through the Institutional Strategic Initiatives (ISI) unit in the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR).

In an effort to streamline the CFI application process within the Faculty of Engineering, Principal Investigators (PIs) and Departments/Schools should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Applicants should refer to detailed timelines for upcoming competitions: JELF Timelines
  • In addition to submitting a complete draft in Word to Round Coordinator in ISI, a copy of full proposalÌýfor revision must also beÌýe-mailed to the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation for review. The ADR will provide comments and feedback on theÌýInstitutional commitment and sustainability section.
  • Submission of the Financial Module for review is particularly important as it may impact the Faculty’s CFI allocations.ÌýNote that ISI can prepare the budget builder for you. Please contact Round Coordinator for assistance.
  • The final version of the CFI application must be submitted to the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation (Dean’s Delegate) for an approval signature before final revised versions are posted on the CFI and Quebec portals. Therefore, applications must be submitted to the Dean's Office for approval signatures at least 4 working days before the deadline, to allow sufficient time for final review.
