Postdoctoral Fellows
Postdoctoral Fellows are postdocs who receive external funding, and are paid directly by the external funding agency or through the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Health Centre (MUHC) or an affiliated institute.
If this is your case, you will be considered a student, not a ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ employee. Postdoctoral Fellows are also sometimes referred to as "Group A."Μύ
Postdoctoral Scholars
Postdoctoral Scholars receive external funding like Postdoctoral Fellows. However, Postdoctoral Scholars are paid 100% of this funding through ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's payroll systems.
If this is your case, you will be considered a student, not a ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ employee. Postdoctoral Scholars are also sometimes referred to as "Group B."Μύ
Postdoctoral Researchers
Postdoctoral Researchers receive part of their funding directly from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ. Postdoctoral Researchers are consideredΜύboth students and ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ employees.
Postdocs receiving more than 25% of their income from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ funds are unionized Postdoctoral Researchers while all others are non-unionized. Postdoctoral Researchers are also sometimes referred to as "Group C."Μύ
