Class of Medicine 1963: Scholarship Fund
Members of the Class of Medicine 1963 have been giving to their class scholarship fund for over 25 years. The fund has supported over 190 medical students since 1999, sharing amongst them close to $690,000.Ìý
They established their class scholarship fund in 1998, in appreciation for the education they received at Â鶹ԼÅÄ and in commemoration of their Class' 35th anniversary of graduation. Their scholarships are awarded to medical students in good academic standing and based on financial need.Ìý
As of 2024, the class has contributed a total of $1.5M towards this Fund. In their

Class of Medicine 2008: Dr. Freda M. Omaswa Travel Award for the Study of Infectious and Tropical Diseases
The Class of Medicine 2008, family, friends and colleagues established this award in 2017 in appreciation of Dr. Freda M. Omaswa, MDCM ‘08. Freda was an accomplished and highly talented scientist, physician and infectious disease specialist. Her vision was the attainment of empowered healthy populations in Uganda, Africa and the world. She succumbed to metastatic colon cancer in 2016, at the age of 33 years. The Dr. Freda M. Omaswa Travel Award for the Study of Infectious and Tropical Diseases provides travel support for a MDCM student traveling to Africa in order to gain experience in tropical and infectious diseases.
