Residency

The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Neurology and Neurosurgery Residency Programs have the specific goals of training both clinical neurologists and neurosurgeons and academic clinician-scientists. They are designed to meet requirements in adult neurology, pediatric neurology, and neurosurgery of theÌýCollègeÌýdesÌýMédecinsÌýdu Québec and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.Ìý

The programs are university-based and include the neurological and neurosurgical departments of the Neuro, Montreal General Hospital, Montreal Children's Hospital, Glen Hospital (Royal Victoria) and the Sir M.B. Davis - Jewish General Hospital. Residents rotate to each hospital in the course of their training.

APPLICATIONS

Applications for adult neurology, child neurology, or neurosurgery are encouraged from:Ìý

1) Fourth-year Canadian medical students throughÌýCaRMS. Successful applicants will do a PGY-1 year in internal medicine or pediatrics at a Â鶹ԼÅÄ teaching hospital followed by the 4-year neurology training program.Ìý

2) ÌýCanadian citizens who are graduates of Canadian medical schools outside Quebec and who have at least one year (post M.D.) of internal medicine, pediatrics, and/or neurology training.Ìý

3) American citizens who are graduates of U.S. medical schools. These applicants should apply through the American Matching Program for training in neurology commencing a PGY-2 level; the PGY-1 in internal medicine or pediatrics may also be done at Â鶹ԼÅÄ. Enquiries should be directed to:Ìý
