BSW First Year

SWRK 222 Introduction to Practicum 3 Credits

BSW Second Year

Second Year Field Placements are generally carried out in a community-based setting where students participate in outreach, advocacy, referral services, program planning & implementation, case management, policy, and psychosocial assessments.

SWRK 322 Field Practice 1 3 Credits

SWRK 323 Field Practice 2 3 Credits
    Offered in the:
  • Fall
  • Winter
  • Summer

Students must have completed a minimum number ofΜύ24 credits to begin the second year (U2) field placement. These 24 credits are comprised of all U1 required courses (SWRK 219, SWRK 220, SWRK 221, SWRK 222 andΜύSWRK 224) and any combination of SWRK complementary, non-SWRK complementary, and/or Electives courses totalling 24 credits. Second year students cannot do block placements.

BSW Third Year

Third Year Field Placements are generally carried out in public service institutions focusing on physical and mental health, child protections, and/or disability. Placements focus on direct service with clients, particulary psycho-social assessments, interventions, and evaluations. Activities may include counselling, group work, presenting at case conferences, working on interdisciplinary teams, implementing intervention plans.Μύ

SWRK 420 Advanced Field Practice 1 3 Credits

SWRK 421 Advanced Field Practice 2 3 Credits
    Offered in the:
  • Fall
  • Winter
  • Summer

Students must have completed a minimum number ofΜύ54 credits to begin the third year (U3) of field placement. Third year students have the option to do a block placement.

Students must complete all U1 and U2 required courses prior to their U3 field placement.
