  • Child Protection Scholarship

The CRCF Child Protection Scholarship was created in honour or Mr. Manuel Batshaw, who bequeathed a generous donation to the Centre in 2017. He was a Canadian social worker best known for leading a provincially mandated committee in the 1970s that studied the situation of youth in care and recommended many of the principles and practices that form the basis of Quebec Youth Protection practice. His contribution was commemorated in the name of the Batshaw Youth and Family Centres (now part of the CIUSSS Ouest-de-lβ€™ΓŽle-de-MontrΓ©al).

Child Protection Scholarships are available to any person pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in the School of Social Work at ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ on this subject matter. This scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to cover the cost of attending a conference or to complete a research project (including community collaborative initiatives, completing an independent study project or tutorial) on the topic of child protection. Upon completion, students must provide a brief report of the conference proceedings or research findings. Two scholarships of $500 are awarded per academic year and are non-renewable.

For information, see CRCF funding.

ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Internships vary in their dates and field and include internship opportunities with CBC Radio, the United Nations, and international consulates.
